Don't forget to show us the pictures WC.

My Puffin is slowly taking shape, but as it's running second fiddle at the moment it only gets a tab or two glued when there's a 'wait for glue to dry' moment on the Paper Tiger main build.

Keep on snippin' ... Johnny.

PS: You still out there Kevin? Missin' ya good buddy.

Whulsey was referring to my PS to Kevin. Remember him? OK, it might have been my idea, but Kevin actually started this thread.

Johnny.

I've been looking for a card model of a Roadrunner, the New Mexico State bird, not the muscle car of the late '60's early '70's.

Anybody know of a card model or for that matter any medium would be considered.

Thnx,
Swampfox

Been a while since I've posted anything and just figured I'd ask again.

Thanks again SFX

Haven't found a paper model of a roadrunner but the following qualify for other media:
roadrunner figure | eBay
Plush Bird Stuffed Animals

Not a model, but finally got to see a roadrunner in the wild last week on one of my bus routes. For anyone familiar with the Phoenix area it was crossing 7th Street as I was heading south up the hill by the North Mountain Preserve. Really cool and my reaction I'm sure just confirmed to some of my riders that 'that driver is a bit odd'.

I'm still too shaky to finish the Robin, so if no-one else is gonna make any birds I guess it's time for these little fellas to take over again.
It took me ten minutes to build the stack, so it should be easy to knock over !

Red First

Red Failed ... Go Yella ...

Well Yella tried hard ...

Go Black Bomber ...

Yeay ... annihilation !!!

Keep on snippin' ... Johnny.

60(?) seconds to total annihilation, now another 10 minutes to rebuild the stack- sigh......

Wren - a quickie

I have so little time nowadays...
I am exhausted. This year we already finished two films, one 30 minute short doc and a feature length 76 minute documentary, and now we're working on yet another 40 minute one and a 20 minute promotion film both of which have their deadlines this month. And being with just two people makes that one big time and energy consuming business...

This also means I hardly get to the bigger and more complicated modeling stuff any more. All my elaborate builds are on hold. I just don't have neither the creative power nor the energy to try. Luckily I find the time to make small out of the box quickies like Johan Scherft's wren.
This was a joy to build. Such a good fit, such ingenious shapes to glue and to see magically transform into a bird. I used regular 80gpm printer paper. The eyes got a droplet of clear acrylic gloss paint to make them stand out a little more. All in all, two hours of work, including the cutting out.

PS. Sorry for the bad pictures, I used my smartphone instead of my good camera. (-:
