I need a little guidance here. I've almost finished Johan Scherft's "Bluebird" from the Barnes and Noble kit (it looks just like Mio's fine build earlier in this thread), but I don't know what to do about the perch. The kit's perch is designed to hang on a wall, and the kit instructions say that a free-standing perch can be downloaded from the designer's website, but I can't find it. The closest thing I could find was a perch for the Wren, but it says "Wren" and the scientific name on the base. The perch itself didn't go together too well on my first try, but that's probably something I can overcome. Any ideas before I resort to inquiring of the designer?

Using the wayback machine, the following link contains free-standing mounts for the Goldfinch, Cardinal, and Bluebird: https://web.archive.org/web/20150212...aperbirds.html. If the link doesn't work you can pm me your email address and I can send you the file (if the admins say it's o.k.).

As an alternative, find and mount an appropriate twig. I sometimes just stick them in an earthernware plant pot.

No one else seems to have noticed, so I thought I'd better announce it ...

There's a fantastic new bird on Johan's website ...

I wish I could try to beat you to it Kevin, but my fingers are not up to these yet. I've still got a few others in stock to try first.

Actually I will have the whole collection to do over again, if and when. While I was in deep depression a few months back, seeing them every day and knowing I was no longer capable of building more wasn't helping my state of mind, so I gave them all away.
