Aaah - no rush on the build thread. There are plenty of others who want the fame of posting the first built model!

I am not fussed - I would rather enjoy the build and post a decent build thread for others in due course! And I have the other bird in progress to finish first.

I am sorry to hear there is still little improvement on your side - I am managing to hold my own with my hands. No feeling in my feet though. But rather that then my hands!

That's a particularly beautiful bird model with a particularly active pose. Thanks for the head's up, Johnny.

I have yet to build my first Scherf bird, although I have several on hand, and have some other projects I want to complete, but I could not resist ordering this pretty bird. I also spent some time watching Johan's videos, which make me want to put the other projects on the shelf and start making a hummingbird or a wren.

I'd start with something bigger first Don. Just to get the feel of them. The bigger birds are quite complex. Wrens and Hummingbirds are pretty small creatures you know.

Having built the wren and the humming bird I would also recommend trying one of the larger birds like the robin first.

Thanks, John.

Clarifies the open mouth construction nicely.

The written instructions are very good and this video provides nice backup!

I have started my build thread here... and am keen to get on!

Keicraft has a new Java Sparrow papercraft for free on their website store!

I had to register for an online account, but it took my USA address and email. I haven't tried to order yet though.

Just a few photos of a couple of Birdmobile birds - first card models I've built in a very long time! Quite pleased how they came out, particularly the Kingfisher. All comments and criticism most welcome!

Regards
Gary
