THE BIRDS (all things bird model related!)

Johnny (JohnM) came up with the idea of this thread in another post - "a thread for all things bird related".

A good idea so here it is.... A bird thread for general discussions on bird models.

Let's see where it goes!

(If anyone does a specific build on a specific model i suggest put that in its own thread named after the bird).

Bee Eater kit

Johnny,

Thanks for your update, we're both in the same boat, waiting to hear from John.

I too received a confirmation message that the payment had been accepted, so I'm guessing we'll hear from him early next week.

I don't have a Facebook account so I rely on his email address being active.

I'll let you know if I hear from him, please let me know if you hear from him also....

Onward,

Swampfox

Good idea to start a new thread. I don't know if this is the kind of input you are looking for on this new thread.

Swampfox

No pics, but I've done a number of birds for the bird room at a nursing home and as gifts. Only fairly easy ones.

Cockatiels and Pied Kingfisher from http://www.jade.dti.ne.jp/~zardoz/papercraft/index.html

The ruby-throated sparrow from Akafuku ???????? | ???? ??

So many Java sparrows which get left all over ???:2009?01? - livedoor Blog?????

I keep meaning to do the Ichiyama little white bird “¤’뉀

There are some others, but I forget which ones right now

Swampfox - all the right input!

As I mentioned Johan generally has come back to me after around during 12 hours, so work in that. Patience is a virtue (unless of course you are the one having to be patient!).

All right. Here are some birds I downloaded from Epson - Animals. Turned out nice and as I remember relatively easy to make. It was many years ago. Both birds were stuck onto one stand.

Here is a model from Seasonal Scenes of Japan - YAMAHA.

The Yamaha site has a lot of other kinds of models too.

Doug - i like the Epson birds - nice and colourful!

The Yamaha bird is great as well - I like the inclusion of the blossoms. Thanks for the link of this.

Which reminds me of the Hyacinth Macaw at Yamaha and the hummingbird from Epson. We did about a dozen of the hummingbirds for a ladies' night out deal. ran wire through the beaks and mounted them to live flowers looking like they were all feeding.

Swampfox ... I gave Johan a dig through his 'Kontact' system. I now have the Bee-Eaters. He found my Paypal notification in his Spam folder. Maybe yours is in there too. Or perhaps there's an email from 'Wetransfer.com' languishing in your spambox ... that's it. Give him a dig through the 'Kontact' tag on his website.

Johnny.

Anyone interested in this paper bird ? I got as far as downloading it, but the Wife won't let me make it up ... She probably thinks it's too big or summat.
