I was away for 7 months and she actually pined and lost a huge amount of weight. When I came back, I called from the drive and she came rushing down. After we had spent some time together she then went and gobbled food until she nearly burst! ------------------------------ One of the other cats, Biscuit (the Forest Cat) diagnosed me when I was very ill. You read of this happening, but I actually experienced this. She started the one day kneading on me in the one spot and would not let it go. This went on and on - it drove me nuts. It turned out when I was diagnosed this was the exact spot with the problem! More interesting was that she continued to knead until the problem went away! Then she stopped. So it was not a coincidence... Was very uncomfortable as she is a very very large cat and weighs a ton!

https://www.sciencenewsforstudents.o...heir-own-names Yes, that question, “But will they come when called?“ In my experience the cat’s answer is often based on the answer to “What’s in it for me?” Food? Affection? Play? Brushing? Simple companionship?

Interesting article - thank you.
Out of our 5 cats, three (including two ex ferals) will DEFINITELY COME when called, one will generally come, and the last one is a bit iffy about coming. My own personal opinion is that it relates to the actual psychological make-up of the cat, and the ability to socialise with other cats - ferals are good at this. It took one of the cats (a "will generally come" one), which was a stray that adopted us, about two weeks only to catch on to a name. And she is improving daily. The cats that respond well are also very vocal - the more vocal they are, the more responsive to their name (and other commands) they are. Interesting as they obviously have a strong desire to communicate/interact. Cats in the wild are naturally social.

Hi Guys,
Thought I would share a few pictures of BRUMBY and CALLIE. This is what I was able to comb from them this week. It does help with the fur balls and random vomiting that kitties do trying to clear their systems. Hope you enjoy the pictures. By the way,,, I shared the pictures with our vet,,, and she is amazed at what I get from them. Best Reagrds, Gary |
