Hi Sakrison,
Glad you liked the pictures of my helpers.
And Callie is our second Calico.
We had Chloi before her. And I have always had orange Tabby's
through my life. Even had one when I was on the road
playing music that traveled with me everywhere.
It was part of the deal if a band wanted me to work with them
that my Kitty was included in the deal.
Really like the two cat pictures you added.
And my wife found the Lost Cat sign somewhere on facebook.
I have had more fun with it printing it out.
I have even got a couple cat friendly business owners
here in town to put them up on their front doors.
They have gotten some real funny comments from folks
about them.
And I like to take one with me shopping. ( Specially at Walmart )
It is really funny to see people's reactions to it.
And finally, the Red Head in the picture looks a lot like the gal from the
( Two Broke Girls ) sitcom on TV.
Thanks for sharing,
Gary

The special category for the 2015 International Paper Modelers Convention has been announced: Animals. I won't be competing, since I'm now on the awards committee, so there's no point in being secretive as I usually am. My intention right now (until I inevitably get sidetracked) is to build a whole table full of cat models. I took today off to putter and build, and I put together two simple cat models to get off to a good start. The first, Cat In A Box (by Tubbypaws) is very simple, but I managed to make two mistakes. But it works just fine anyhow. Since the convention also has the new category Automata (models with moving parts), it seemed like a good place to start. The second is a grey cat from a Yahoo Japan site which I've lost the link for.

Nice job on the Kitty models.
I really enjoy the cat in a box one.
Where did you get it?
Thanks for sharing.
Hope you have a good time at the convention too.
Best Regards,
Gary

Thanks, guys. The cat in a box is from tubbypaws.blogspot.com.au, who has done a number of Internet-meme cat models. I've been exploring and there are a LOT of cat paper models out there. The Kids Nifty Kitties are in the queue, but more recommendations are welcome! I built a simple Maneki-Neko (beckoning lucky cat, like Asian shopkeepers display) tonight. My desktop computer seems to have -- issues -- with posting, so I'll use my iPad for this post and try to add photos after posting.

Hi Miles,
LOVE IT.
An Archaeological Kitty.
Bella looks like she is checking for any mice
that might still be hanging out at Cheese Henge. ( HE HE )
Beautiful Model Too.
Is it paper? or made from small pieces of marble.
Thanks for sharing the pics'.
And,,,
Have you done any more work on the
catnip diorama?
Still looking forward to your build on it.
Best Regards,
Gary

Have you cat lovers seen this one? It might have been there a while, but I've only just noticed it.

Kotatsu cat - Entertainment | YAMAHA MOTOR CO., LTD.

With a bit of pimping it should make quite a realistic model. Looks like it could effectively be blown up to 1:1 too. I'm a bit too involved in other things to start this one yet though.

Keep on snippin' ... Johnny.

Dear Gary and John:
Thanks for the Cat from the Y site. Gary the stone hinge is paper, and I had to make a new Bass Guitar nut for my daughter her Dean Guitar plastic nut collapsed and I made a new one from Beef bone, what a project. Hope to go back to the Diorama I have been collecting Textures and Cardboard however.
Thanks,
Miles
