Hi John, welcome to the blind kitten society!

Ours is Findus, an abandoned tom with only one eye and no pupils at all. Quite adventureous but he wouldn't enter the house by its main door - that one is always shut and if it isn't it's highly suspicious...

Really have to applaud you John, and Michik for all you are
doing to help your blind Kitties have a life.
( YOU GUYS ROCK )
And for you John,,,
I don't have any pictures of the kids with Santa,,,
But here are some Christmas pictures of them
dealing with all the stuff my wife enjoys putting
around the house.
I will share more when I can find them.
Enjoy,
Gary

That is one handsome cat Michik! He looks like he could be Bocelli’s brother. We have had a few blind cats over the years. It is amazing, they are probably the bravest and most outgoing cats we have ever had. Nothing seems to phase them or get in their way.

Gary, I think cats really love Christmas. Plenty of stuff to run amok in! Have yours ever climbed the Christmas tree?

Lee Anne, That cat bus is one interesting contraption. You did a very nice job. I’m looking forward to your B-17 build.

John,
We have a legally blind cat, and he is as you mentioned, the most loving, fearless and brave out of all of them. to the point of jumping out a second story window, because he wanted to go out side!!! Goofy cat... The others kind of look at him like he is crazy.... As much as he does every day, you don't really notice he is blind..
Jeff

My old cat Max went blind when he was about four years old. He would always start meowing as he went through the house. When he got to a place he wasn't sure of, he would meow in a couple different directions before heading off. I think he discovered echo location. He did just fine for fourteen years wandering around blind

Lee Anne, your catbus looks great, and it looks like it's the right size to go with your Totoro. I wouldn't want them to have to be out in the rain as they were in the movie, though. Congratulations on finishing, and good luck with the B-17.

My catbus still needs the last 2 legs and the mice. Last night I found that I'd glued the back end together wrong, but fortunately I was able to fix it. I had worried about the bus body "oilcanning", but once I joined the back end and belly together correctly, the problem seems to have gone away. One more night should see my catbus finished, but I don't think I'll have time tonight.

Cats in the Dog House

Dear Cat folks:
I was about to start work on the Catnip Diorama again when I went to get the Bow out for my Daughters weekly trip for Ballet lessons and an hour at the indoor archery range when I found that one or both of the cats had chewed on the bowstring. Last summer when Erin said she wanted to take up Archery I resurrected my 50 year old bow got new arrows and away we went. Thank god I made a bowstring board to fit the bow string, hung it up in the garage and did not think any more about it until today. So I go from paper modeler to bow string maker.
Life is not fair sometimes,
Miles

Thanks for the kudos! I started the B-17 last night, but I really wasn't in a patient mood and ended up trashing the top turret and the plexi nose. I may reprint sheet 1 and start over tonight.

That catbus is hillarious, Lee Anne - congratulations!

Thank you, Gary, though I have to say the blindness isn't such a big issue for a cat - after all, cat s are built for hunting in the undergrowth during pitch black nights. The harder part really was to teach a four week old kitten the things his mother should have tought him, like what the litter box is for... Thank god, cats are quick learners!

Yes, John, they might well be... brothers in paw!(Sorry for the weak pun...)
