Hi Kevin,
THANKS SO MUCH for sharing the pictures of your new baby.
She is absolutely stunning !!!
And as Whulsey and Texman said,,, She has found a wonderful home.
By the way,,, WHAT is her name ???
Please post more pictures of her as she gets used to
working on models with you.
Guess you will have to cat proof your home and modeling stuff
to make sure she does not get into it when you are not home.
I do that with Brumby and Callie too.
Although Callie loves to play in my tool box to
snatch Q-tips from it.
But I keep the sharp things well away from their grasp.
Congratulations on your new baby.
Best Regards,
Gary

PS,,, My wife says she wants her. ( LOL )

Wow, glad to hear Callie likes q-tips. I thought Cammie was weird snatching
them from every place she can find them!

And yes, I have had to Cammie proof my work desk. I had two clear plastic
containers to hold parts, but during the night, she has pulled them off my desk
repeatedly, and I have lost several parts.

And no, I am not going go through the litter box to find them!

Dear Tex:
You know you are a paper modeler when you check the cats litter box for missing parts.
Grin,
Miles

Gary - her name became Smudge - I guess because she is a bit smudgy looking.

She is very gentle by nature, and the other cats are happy with her, but she is extremely aggressive with them. Initially we have been keeping her in the spare room when we are not there (the other cats can go out freely) and she is now extremely defensive of this, HER area!

An interesting fact about Tortoiseshell cats (she's one) is that they are nearly always always females. There is the occasional male, but apparently they are extremely rare, and are usually sterile.

The above is due to chromosome aberrations.

Here is a nice article on Wiki if you are interested.....

Hi Kevin,
Very cute name for her. And I think she is beautiful and it fits her.
I can see how she is protective of her room too. Cats are quite territorial and like to keep other kitties from taking their spots over.
The only difference is with brothers and sisters. But give her lots of love and time to adopt to her new home and family members.
Hope all your kitties are safe when you let them roam outside.
Brumby and Callie are leash trained and we gear them up when we go outside for walks. And I don't let other people pet them either as they have all their claws. ( you should see our furniture LOL )
But we don't believe in declawing as it is a really cruel thing to do.
It would be the same as cutting off all your fingertips on a human.
( It makes me sick that they do this )
So,,, Congratulations and best wishes for you and Smudge.
Please do post more pictures of her and your other kitties too.
And good luck with cat proofing your modeling tools etc.
Best Regards,
Gary

My cat (Miss Reba Arriba Andelé) is a Torbie- Tortoiseshell/Tabby mix. She is DEFINITELY an aberration!

A young, black, stray female cat -- already very pregnant -- came up to my wife and stepdaughter near a store, so she lives with us now. As we already had more than our fair share of cats, the only feasible place to put her was the computer room -- where I do paper modeling. A week later she had six babies. All are in excellent health, but the shelters have such a glut of cats that it looks like they'll remain with us. Feeding them, cleaning their litter box, and straightening the room are problems. On the other hand, there no longer is the problem of unfinished models. If any Forum members have good homes for adorable kittens and might be near Texas City, please let me know.

Hi Yale,,,
Your family is a wonderful family !!!
Taking in this kitty and letting her have a place to live and birth her kittens is beyond kind.
You are a family of ANGELS.
Wish my wife and I lived near you, we would take one of the kittens for sure.
PLEASE do us all a kindness and post some pictures of the MOM and kittens so folks that might want one can see them.
Thanks for what you are doing for these kitties.
YOU ROCK !!!
Best Regards,
Gary

Aw, shucks, you embarrass me, Gary. I have to wonder if your word "angel" should be spelled S-A-P.
