Here's a couple of pics of our "community" cats. The one inside with the makeshift warming hut on the back porch is Tux and the orange one outside is Tigger. We took Tigger in to the free spay/neuter clinic only to find out that she had already been taken care of. Unfortunately, in the process of doing that, my wife Essie got a few small bites and scratches from Tux. So the county health department required that we quarantine Tux for ten days. So we brought the warming hut onto the back porch to make her confinement more bearable.
I'm not sure which cat was the least happy about the whole thing, the one stuck inside or the one stuck outside in the snow. But later today we got the all clear to release Tux. I put the warming hut back outside and now both cats can enjoy it, though Tigger seems to prefer his own dens for sleeping. Curt |

Hi Curt,
I know all to well what you are going thru with your roaming kitties. We have had our two ( Ebony and Kitty ) taken care of with the free vet service here. And Ebony has nipped me a couple times. All I did was to clean the bite mark with Dawn dishwashing liquid to get rid of any bacteria ETC. And then put neosporin and a bandaid on it and watched the wound to make sure it did not get infected. That's what the animal control told me to do. As far as our two kids and our two outdoor kids,,, We love and keep them well fed and the two outside have their own two houses by our back door. Here are pictures of Ebony and Kitty for you to share with your wife. Best Regards, Gary |

Little Calico Gal is spending more time in with Bootsie and Gracie these days. Unfortunately Ten o'clock Tom didn't adjust his internal clock, so he's Nine o'clock Tom for a few months.
My Gracie girl got in trouble last night. If I didn't have several projects going at once, it wouldn't have been so bad. The only real problem was breaking one of the fender brackets on my latest version of Bessie. But not a difficult repair

Always getting bitten and scratched - especially when playing with the one cat, who always wants to play but gets quite carried away!
Quick wash, bit of Savlon cream and all is generally well. I think the important thing is get all this done quickly before anything can develop.

Hi Kevin, Got your message. Glad you had a great vacation. As for your kitty. PLEASE understand that your kitty loves you and wants to play with you. He just is a bit over energetic about his playing. I bet he gives you love bites too. Know that if you take him to your veterinarian and he has all his shots and vacations he will be OK for you to play with. Also,,, try to get him to let you just lay with him and pet him and give him loving scratching and petting. This will get him to lessen the biting he does with you. He obviously loves you and wants to be with you. Best Regards, Gary |

When our remaining indoor cat was very young I would "play fight" with him on an almost daily basis. Then one day he accidentally scratched me badly enough to draw blood. My reaction to stop playing and tend to the injury did not set well with him. To this day Hayduke refuses to play that way ever again. Of course at 16 years of age his favorite activity now is simply laying in my lap, getting his ears, head and belly rubbed.

Gary - it's just the way she plays!
She has a mouse she plays with in the absence of a human - it is equally shredded!

Here you are. A snoozing cat in 70F heat. The thing hanging down on the right is the shredded mouse referred to above.
I told my wife to take the mouse back to the pet shop, as clearly it was sub-standard. She refused for some reason....
