Canon Giraffe
My daughter was bored in the holidays, so I told her to try something new in paper modelling rather than the paperboxworld models she has built in the past. So we perused the Canon site. She wanted to do one of the castles, but at 19 pages, the meanie in me said no. So we selected the Giraffe (at 3 pages). I basically left her to it and was surprised at how well she did. Maybe I'll have to print one of those castles now after all.

That's a nice build, I think she's ready for something more challenging.

Yes, I think so too. Maybe she could make a start on my build list, but then, that would take all my fun away

Cool! I like to see kids get into this stuff! How old is your daughter??

She did all the folds in the legs and neck by herself? If so, her fine motor skills are excellent, not to mention her ability to focus. I'm a teacher, so I have some knowledge about these things.
I vote with the other guys: get her the castle. BTW I have Cinderella's and Sleeping Beauty's Castle if you want either or both. Sleeping Beauty's Castle is from the German Seite 42 which is a compilation of the Disney magazine in German. Even though the instructions are in German, the diagrams tell the story. SB's castle is also less complex than Cindy's. PM me.

She's 11 so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. I guess I expected glue everywhere, but it was quite a clean build.
As for the castles, I just don't know where to put them once built.:( |

On the shelf, of course! SB's castle is not overly large. And, with your talent, you could easily build a nice little stand alone display shelf from cardboard that would pin into the side of the wall. Come on; it's for your sweetie!

Canon Giraffe
Just thought I would post the Giraffe I built from the Canon Papercraft web site. Took a couple week as I take my time.
