Koi pond

Neat little display of a koi pond with three fish.
Can be found here Akuto Original Paper Craft along with some buildings.
The pond is 9"/24cm x 6"/17cm

I was wondering how the fish would stay upright. The pectoral and pelvic fins do the job.

Another one of those models I've meant to build for a long time. I think I will do it on foamcore so it can be hung on the wall

Also fits the theme of this year's International Paper Modelers' Convention in Sterling, Virginia, USA, on 27 October. International Paper Modelers Convention Awards Rules

VK, the fish in the photos are not glued down. You could use dabs of glue to secure them. The way I constructed them the tips of the fins and a small part of the belly on the two bent fish touch the base. Just the tips of the fins on the straight fish touch.

Don, thanks for the info. I will once again not be attending the IPMCAC, though.

That's a lovely model, SCEtoAUX, and you've done it justice.

I just downloaded the kit and instructions. It's a really nice kit. Hope to have one of these at my table in Sterling in October.

Nice find and a nicely-built model, Doug.

Hoya saxa!

Thank you for the compliments, folks.

Don, those bent fish might not seem like they bend too easily into shape when contructing them but they do get into shape without much trouble.

I left the fish unsecured so they can be moved around. If one should happen to "swim" away after being looked at another can be made.
