Griffin from Canon Creative Park
This is another model that has been sitting around partially finished that finally was completed. Pretty straightforward build. A little trouble aligning the top and bottom of the wings, but no biggy. That is why they make blades and markers.
     I tried to come up with another way to mount the body, but decided to go ahead and use what the model designer provided.

So you finished another one that I'd planned to do. I thought about using transparency to do the mount, and then set it aside. I'll have to revisit it.

Thanks for the interest and compliments.
I just queue up some Tull and get to work. Forgot to mention that it is around 5 inches/13 cm tall and the wing spread as shown is around 9 inches/23 cm, printed at 100% size. It fits on both USLtr and A4 size pages.

I was planning on making it freestanding, maybe printing the hind legs twice, and making them more 3d, and filling them with copper BB's and then placing a magnet in the base(hiding the magnet)

Nice model - neatly made!
On some of my unstable figures I push a piece of wire up through the foot and leg - on this one I'd use the left leg. Once it gets far enough inside I push the wire through the base and make a flat spiral. I "sandwich" the spiral between the base and another piece of card. Once the cards are dry it's just a matter of bending the figure to bend the wire to the position I want. Cheers Mike

Mike and Rick - good ideas. Rick - I like your approach with the magnet. Useful if the model has to be "taken down". VK - Why not try packing the back legs with paper and embed a skewer in each one? It also helps with easy "take down" of the model. You may remember my Microceratops build - I actually did this to him and it worked well. Some good ideas on mounting the beast without that beam. Another thing to remember is you will have to mask the mounting areas on the chest, part 11.
