Kinglet bird (Firecrest) Johan Scherft

This model is really nice, goes together well no issues. The branch is similar to the wren but is a little smaller...I feel like I'm holding a real bird almost. We have both Kinglet species here, but the Golden crowned is the more resident common bird. They are active little birds but mostly quiet just high pitched soft notes that become harder to hear with age I think...In the winter they come down from the fir treetops and hop around in the bushes looking for insect larvae or eggs, and they are trusting little things so can see the pretty markings on the head at that season, they are often in our antique Lilac bushes that are covered with lichen

Nice looking model!

Johan makes the best bird models - but there could be others I've not found ;-)

Cheers
Mike

Very nice. I agree, it does look real.

What a marvelous bird.
This model really looks nice. It has more color.
We certainly don't have those around here.
Are you able to design your own? Perhaps any species you want?

Thanks these are really pretty I haven't seen anything close to them. I have the bird mobile Osprey that looks nice but it is so big I've no place to put it if I did try it, but Johan's designs are delicate in comparison.

Thank you Mike I think these models are in a class of their own, not sure anyone has been able to duplicate this yet. I do think a hand drawn repaint would be nice and changes could be made, but these are quite original. I'm impressed with them as you can tell ha
