Beautiful model of a beautiful bird. Have only seen one in real life, earlier this year on my walk to work. Such a colourful small bird.��

Glen - great work!

I especially like your idea for the base - very clever.

Yes, the Malachite Kingfisher is almost identical, but maybe a bit glossier. Have been fortunate to see these on and off in the bush - they are not uncommon. Very pretty birds.

I am currently living in Malaysia and my house is close to a river and padi fields. We see blue, red, and yellow kingfishers regularly. A possible repaint for someone?

They are very clever birds using different ways to open shells and crabs.

We only have a few Kingfishers in temperate climates, but the large majority of Kingfishers are found in the warmer areas of the world, lots of species most of them small and very brightly colored, unfortunately I've not seen any of them....maybe someday?
