I built a 1:2 scale version of Malcolm's Osprey a few years ago now. Even at half size it is still a big impressive model. I still keep looking at the full size one and thinking about it, but I haven't taken the plunge yet.

THE BIRDS (all things bird model related!) Post #106 explains how I got it reduced to half size back then, but now I have an A3 printer/scanner which makes such exercises much easier.

Aye ... but where did you get your one? My son phoned me to say he'd seen one in a Charity shop for £5 and asked if I wanted it. I said I'll have four please ... but there was only one there.

As you are in the UK, easiest way to get them is direct from the Birdmobile people: [email protected]

Good show.

By the way: What body of water is that? Is it a lake we might recognize the name of?
Or is it a small body of water or maybe a pond?
This is at Liberty Lake we live close by so majority of birdwatching from there
The photos I thought were really cool and lucky ..

It is smaller than 1/2 I see won’t be huge as mine is about 40% it appears. I bought mine 15 years ago from PMI he was downsizing for his retirement back then. You can still get it in the US although not very inexpensive ... Diderick still sells them don’t you?

Wing spars remind me of other models I’ve made....

Those are really good Glen. Excellent!

Sports mode is great for the off the cuff pics.

Try also setting up M with a high shutter speed ( 1/1200 plus) plus burst mode. No good for low lighting though obviously!

That link doesn't work for me Diderick. I tried the obvious ... changing the amtbirdmobile to read atbirdmobile, but that didn't work either. Googling 'Birdmobile' brings up many eBay, Amazon,Etsy, and other retailers, but it looks like the direct sales site may have closed.

Not a problem for me as I already have original prints of the whole series. My point was more to brag that I bought a second-hand original print of the osprey for only £5. I would imagine that it would cost a lot more through a retailer now, but you or Ben Fentens would be where I'd be looking if I wanted another.

Of course I still sell them. We could perhaps do a Print Your Own version, to save on postage - more than 30 EUR to the USA!!

They don't have a website - this is their email!
