so, I would think it should be laminated as a 'former"
to provide the shape for the front of the engine?

lol yes I agree...I have complained many times about the lack of proper instructions.
like every model, there are good parts to the kit
and there are not so good parts...the instruction diagram might be one of those not so good parts! lol
