as a result of links to new reference images
I have thrown out my first attempt at a design!

thanks a lot!!!

but...
I have started work on a second version
that is coming along nicely.

with the knowledge I gained from the first artwork,
I was able to lay down the basic elements pretty quickly.

and as you can see in the beta test pics I have some minor tweaking to do,
but the overall shapes fit together nicely.
my biggest error is in the cab interior, which I made too small.

its very hard to judge scale when you are working in vector art.
...a part, that fills my screen, may be in reality only 1 or 2mm tall
and so, microscopic adjustments on the screen are big changes in reality!

what you see in the pics, is 4.5" long (about 1/50 scale)

right now I am stumped with how to tackle the chassis or underbody.
and how to attach the wheel and axle assemblies.
I'd like to design more detailed axle and suspension components
but the small scale makes it too difficult to build these parts.

Currently the truck does have a frame...two simple frame rails that run front to back
and the body sits on top of this frame.
(I'll post some pics of the frame when I get it test built.)
