During the April 1951 Hwach'on Dam operation in Korea, one problem was getting river-crossing equipment to the 7th Cavalry and 4th Ranger Company. They considered dropping these boats from SB-17s, but eventually were able to get M2 assault boats into position. [Interview with Major James H. Webel, S3, 7th Cavalry Regiment, in After-Action Interviews Book 3: Hwachon Dam, interviews by First Lieutenant Martin Blumenson, 3d Historical Detachment, Military History Section, Eighth United States Army Korea (EUSAK), 1951.]
