I've converted them into jpg files (I recommend at least 300 dpi) and added the registry and name using the text tool of Photoshop. This program (and I think all good graphics programs) has a tool for writing text in a bow. Then you have either to reduce the layers to one or change the text into a graphic layer. This is necessary to "paint" the letters using the fill tool because most registries since TNG are black with a red edge.

The font used for the registry is "Starfleet BdEx BT", for the ship's name it's "Federation Bold". Both can be downloaded from
"Tal Shiar" for free.
The TOS hull font for name
and registry is Airborne or Airborne II, just depending from which one of both you like more.
The fonts are free downloads from
Charles Casimiro Design. Both "Pilot" fonts on that site are only for the Enterprise from "The Cage" or other Pike-era ships if you want to design some.
