My vote is for the Hs123 - started life as a stopgap between the He50 and Ju87 in the mid 1930s - it was so effective as a close support aircraft that the Luftwaffe requested that production should be restarted in 1943. Also operated in small numbers by Spain and Nationalist China. The other nice thing - it's a biplane with no rigging wires.
