I think the reason that European and Japanese vehicles are well represented in paper models is that the Europeans and Japanese represent the majority of paper model designers and builders. Americans seem to like their mass-produced plastic models. American muscle is well represented in that medium. We just need more designers like Grizzley and his excellent Camaro.
