1980's Throwback
Read it somewhere, but forgot how this sub-forum came about.
Seems it's not only limited to planes, isn't it? Then many of Murph's models are focused on the 1980's. Do you mean just post those (80's) that aren't built yet? Papermate |

my original intent in creating this, is to build kits that were published in the 1980s, with extension to 1975 and 1995
and here in the US, we had authors like Alan Rose and Peter Zorn who published many kits, and while they are now collector items, there are still kits floating around that could stand to be built.

Peter Zorn Spirit of Saint Louis
Peter Zorn's Spirit of Saint Louis was published in 1982, yes?
An incentive to finish the model, which I last worked on in 2009. But I have to finish a few other projects first. Don |

Yes it was
And when you get back to it Mon Colonel, you can create a new thread in the subforum for this challenge

I am either blest or cursed but I only work on one thing at a time and in sixty years of modeling can count on the toes of one foot how many kits I have not finished.

Anybody know how old Marek's P-26 is? After I got into it I discovered that it is one of his very first efforts. At least that he got paid for. A great kit but not one for a beginner. I had to commit an unpardonble sin to me and traash it when I screwed up the wheel pants and couldn't get the ink colros to even come close on the reprints, etc, etc. That was 1:33. A few months alter Idid it in 1:100 and it is still one of my pride & joys.

Michael - You are definitely blessed. One of our sons once said to me, "It's a good thing you can't focus, or you would take over the world." The world is safe.
B - Superb models! I really enjoyed seeing those images. Although I have a few 1980s models around, the only two paper models I can remember actually building during the 80s was a rubber-powered Corsair I bought from Lou Dausse that has long since disappeared and a model of Carnarvon Castle (that I actually bought at Carnarvon Castle during a trip to Wales), which is still stored in younger son Don III's attic.
