19th Century Bush Shanty
In the 1800's the North of the North Island of New Zealand was extensively milled for kauri tree (Agathis Australis) and land dug over for the ancient gum, which was used for a wide range of products.
Accommodation for pioneering families was often in bush shanties which had an open hearth fire and chimmney as a separate structure. we designed this model and diorama in 2010 but have not released it.
