He must have used different software or different settings to convert them from vector art into pdfs. It's the oldest ones that are low quality. Newer files he posted generally do not have the issue. Another thing I noticed about the low quality ones is that if you load them into a vector art program, they're made up of thousands and thousands of tiny polygons (For example, one very small circle could be made of 10 or so) instead of perfectly drawn elements. Also circles and such aren't round, but have very jagged edges. Yet in the newer ones, a circle is a circle and the lines are straight and aren't nearly as bold.
