One more thing: If the models are going into storage, you may want to enclose the whole interior in a plastic (garden waste size) bag to keep the moisture content fairly constant. Might be easier, in fact, to place the entire box in a bag, but you'd have to be careful to keep from poking small holes in it, especially from 'abrasion' against other objects such as concrete surfaces!
