CAPTAIN...THERE BE TEXANS HERE!
oh wait...thats
The Alamo...wrong movie, sorry.
My first Texan kit has been shipped off to the store!
Should be available later this week(?)
although it is posted at the
PaperModelShop
First model is X-151 USAAF (1943)
Watch for the actual Kit Release Announcement...
and I will follow that with the second Texan (that I have already finished!)
Big thanks to Mark for helping with a test build of the first kit (shown above).
Turns out his Dad used to own a Texan back in the early 60s.
And I thought it would make an excellent choice for a civilian version of the Texan
and my second kit!
So, here she is
as I said, N7095C is already done (I have shipped a copy to Mark)
and I am currently working on the third Texan kit (in between Mustang work).
For this one, I went back to an earlier idea
...but it seems that this aircraft never existed within the RCAF.
The Canadian aerobatic team "The Goldilocks" did a parody of the RCAF Golden Hawks using their yellow Harvard Trainers.
I may be wrong on this, but the only Golden Hawk T6 version
is apparently created by ex RCAF pilot Bud Granley (Wisconsin)
who flies various aerobatic shows and displays in Canada and the US.
Anyway, I am inspired by his version of the Texan...
