SS Nomadic from Paper Shipwright

Indeed it is, Jeff!

I did some preparatory double scoring and folding of a lot of the parts today, as well as reading the very clear, detailed and informative instructions in full. Very important to follow it to the letter to avoid silly chronological mistakes.

There are a number of things to do before the actual assembly, like punching port and mast holes in the correct diameters, cutting out windows, making tiny needle holes for the railings, mast ladders, rigging, etc etc. I am also planning to fold some thin brown paper strips for all the stairs running up and down the decks.

I think I will also make the effort of going to a ship modeling specialist shop here in Stockholm, to get a short length of tiny black 1:200 scale anchor chain. I'll even have a look at some bollards and see if I can find a tiny ship's bell (in brass or cold color). Those small details that are so delicate to cut properly in paper might enhance the model as a whole.

I am thinking this model could be a first step in a Cherbourg seaside diorama, which could include the upcoming SZKUTNIK 1:200 scale Titanic (modified then as a waterline model!) next year, if done with great care now.

All the best,
Bengt
