I was of that opinion to start with as I was expecting something somewhat different, especially as I deliberately avoided reading anything about it before the release.
However, having seen it, the more I thought about and more I dissected it reading about it in message boards, the more I warmed to it. It's a good film, it's got its flaws and some unnecessary filler scenes (and without giving anything away, the stupidest death in cinematic history
) but it is refreshingly different to Alien but still set in the same universe of sorts.
Not as good as it could have been but worth watching IMHO.
