I suspect that had this ship survived to fight later in the war, her pre-war guns would have been replaced with heavier guns, and she probably would of had as many as four. Possibly some light howitzers on the upper deck as well. She had the room, although it is possible that her decks may have been too week for more then one gun on each end though. That was the good thing about the cargo steamers of the period, they already had heavy decks for cargo, so converting them into gunboats took less work as far as structurally.
