My goal was to make the '89 LOOK like an '84 Trans Am. The 84 had a working v8 and the 89 had a seized v6. I was going to swap the engines to get the newer one working again, since it had the least amount of rust and was generally in much better condition.

I got lucky and mine were both the same color red. But on the other hand, one had a junk engine and the other didn't even have one.
