OK I've been a bit absent with projects on here as of late but have been working on a particular model that my good friend KCstephens gave me a while back (Thanks Kevin).
This model was ModelCard's Katusya referred to by the Germans as Stalin's Organ. It was a truck mounted rocket launch used for area coverage. It was not t precision weapon by any means. This particular replica is a post WWII Zil 157 truck mounted version.
As many of you know I have a love hate relationship with Modelik models and this particular kit is a hand drawn offering under their previous moniker of Model Card. This is why I skipped a build thread as I wanted to avoid the embarrasment of starting yet another project only for it to enter into an eternal limbo like the scud launcher.
Anyway, while quite challenging and forcing me to putty and paint the cab body and subsequently paint most of the rest of the model, It actually builds up rather nicely and is a well designed model.
It has a functioning rear suspension, rear stabilizers and articulating rocket launcher mechanism.
Here are some pictures, the last one being of an actual truck garnered from wikipedia.
