After looking at your photos I realized that you were just setting the superstructure on the hull for photos. Sorry, I should have paid more attention.
The photo-etched parts are metal as opposed to the paper laser cut parts. I've noticed that HMV doesn't produce the photo-etched sets anymore. They were quite expensive, but the laser cut parts aren't cheap either. The photo-etching process uses acid for etching out the parts, so I suspect that the handling and disposal of chemicals might have influenced their decision to produce only the laser cut parts - no chemicals, just LOTS of smoke.
