I too will be watching this project with interest. I have those plans as well; we seem to have some of the same sources. My current projects are from the same Navy, but about 80 years later (late 50s/early 60s), So I've utilized another source of plans; those intended for R/C projects, scaned & reduced. Then using the same technique as You did to create the frames. First attempt will be smaller than a battleship though : A69 class Aviso, an anti-submarine escort.
Hoping to catch some ideas, hints, & tips on extracting parts from plans by 'looking over your shoulder' on this one.
