hello all,
since the diorama has several items made of paper/card i figured it fits in somewhat.
the plane is a fine molds 1/48 scale kit of the fictional savoia s.21 featured in the animated movie proco rosso. modifications and scratch built details include, opened hatches & engine cowling, additional lever and control cables in cockpit, float brace wires and engine crank handle.
scratchbuilt items for the diorama includes the ramp, deck chair, table, radio, telephone, umbrella, shovel, tool box, crate, hose, all small items on table and magazine.
painting and weathering done with vallejo acrylics and artists oils & pastels.
water made with woodland scenics 'realistic water and the beach is reptile substrate sand.
finally, very happy to have been awarded 1st place in the vignettes category in the recently concluded valley con by my peers.
here's some pictures:
the fabric of the umbrella is tissue paper
mostly paper except the brass and clear plastic
the shovel head is paper cut on my laser cutter
images from the internet printed on photo paper. pages are tissue
parts box full before final assembly!
the beach towel, deck chair, table & crate are paper only
the fuel drums, ladder, bucket and funnel are aftermarket parts
i like the reflection in the picture!
the phone base is paper, rest wire & styrene
the hose is aluminium wire
the hand tools are aftermarket photoetch
the ramp is card stock
