Wad Cutter - here are a couple of pics.
It is an 8 watt bulb but it is extremely bright. Daylight bulb, dimmable. Was pretty expensive, but is came in a sealed tin with a 25 year guarantee!
At the time it was all I could get, but I am sure that there are similar cheaper options now.
Pictures 1 and 2 show the bulb. Some versions have a "solid" plastic base.
Picture 3 gives an idea (maybe) of the light quality. Remeber it is a photo so the colour casts will not be accurate........
