I've been using PDFTK Builder successfully for around 8 years now. Pretty sure it came from a cover disc of a long defunct magazine. Never noticed it update or needed it to. There are other useful tools in the 'Tool Kit' too, but the builder is by far the most used.
I mostly use The Gimp for messing around with files and formats, but so far I've not found a way to use it to build up a multi-page .pdf. from loose 1 page ones as PDFTK does so easily, with just a few click and drags. So PDFTK is still sitting permanently on my desktop where I know where to find it.
