More on Figures

I like figures on these small scale boats and ships. For fully dimensional figures check out Joe711's Harbour 1800s diorama. He does it for real. I love his horses. I used the Hathaway figures on the following model and like the life they provide - BUT.

The first photo is the Commodore Perry on the James River. Note the figures. The second photo is my model at about the same angle. The third photo is at an angle not favorable to the figures. Gumby anyone?

I print on card and then chop out the figures using, mostly, a single edged razor blade. The edges and backs are finished with various Tombow markers. I bend legs and arms if possible to get some dimensional quality.
