Wow Don that is a great picture (pretty enough to paint), identifying immature hawks is a challenge, buteos can be very difficult if you live where several occur. A large accipiter clearly and immature Coopers if female can be quite large, facial markings suggest this too, but I have puzzled over immature hawks at length. We had a nice day driving from my Dad's in Orofino saw nice Pileated, Great horned sitting on nest, Rough legged, Red tailed and lots of Kestrels.
