Thanks, Doug. This seems to be a variation on the methodologies used by Gil and Ricardo, with some tools to make the job easier for those of us with inferior hand skills.
Definitely has possibilities. It would seem that the dome could be elongated for aircraft and ordnance noses.
I had not heard of "quilling" before, but to seems to have been around for a while. Wiki sez: "
