April has been a busy month with two business trips, two model contests and an upcoming regular model club meeting, so fitting in some building time has been a slight challenge with my posts here suffering as a result.
BUT, I did continue work on this project and was fortunate enough to finish it up last night.
to catch up here:
- The wings were built up with no issue other than me squishing them a little too much here and there, so they do have some wrinkles.
- The gun pods built up OK but were a little fiddly.
- The main landing gear mechanism was a challenge. So many pieces, so few fingers and what I did have were too fat.
- windscreen built up OK but is not perfect (up close) The sight that goes through it had to have the outer end wrapped after inserting it through the window hole.
Any way, Its done. I like it. It was easier than the Kalinin but still had a few challenges here and there. Parts fit was good to excellent for the most part.
I would recommend this one to those with a few aircraft under their belt as a good stepping stone up to something more complex. (I should have built this one before the Kalinin).
