One of my favourite movies, one of my favourite scenes, and Debussy's 'Claire De Lune' is forever associated with a Starfighter touching space at full tilt forever more.
Sam Sheppard is indeed going to be sorely missed, but his life was given graciously and in elevating art and science together - and he was a great writer besides, so made fantastic contributions even further afield.
