I'd interpreted the two bits in between the four arrowed bits as the headlights. Did it by chance have steps up the side to the cockpit doors, or maybe they are mooring rings ... but as to positioning?

As I said in the beginning, I'm totally unfamiliar with this aircraft or the TV series it came from. I just like the concept. The earlier picture of it in PanAm livery really appeals to me. Especially noting the more realistic step position on the somewhat extended hull. Most of the cartoon pictures seem to indicate that it doesn't actually have a step. Can you imagine trying to persuade it to unstick from a smooth lake surface with no step?? I've also seen versions with PBY style fold up floats, which again really appeal to me.

I guess I'm just gonna have to recolor and remodel it using some PBY bits. I was tempted to put Baloo in the pilot's window, but it seemed pointless at this scale.

John Gay ... Interesting, and I've downloaded the plans, but my aircraft collection are all at 1:300 scale. So I'm looking to shrink the Duck further not blow it up to huge. :-)
