Multiple copies of the tire tread in question. Probably best to use cheap copy paper. The first one acts as a base. You cut out the pieces of tread and glue them on the base copy. this is your first layer. When you cut out the next layer you cut it smaller than the previous layer and glue it where you want your raised section of tread to be.
