To commiserate, I wanted to build a Japanese model from PDF and ran into all these same issues. No instruction pages, just the parts pages with what I imagined was abbreviated names of assemblies and descriptions of where to put them.
I was very lucky though. More and broader searches beyond Google yielded a Japanese blog about the very assembly process with step by step pictures. That, through Google Translate, got me what I needed.
So, I encourage you to spend some time looking into native hobby and craft forums. You just might be as lucky as I was.
