Uss Archerfish

Started the model in conjunction with Le Belle Poule so I now have two models in progress at the same time. I served on similar submarines when I was in the navy many years ago so this brings back many memories. Archerfish is famous for sinking the Japanese super carrier Shinano near the end of WWII.

I decided to make this a waterline model showing Archerfish plowing through rough seas. It will require some major mods to the hull frames to achieve the waterline configuration. Had to make all new slots to fit the frames to the cut down hull spine.

Began by attaching the frame parts to 1mm card that I bought at Michael,s with spray adhesive. Then all parts were cut out in the new configuration.
