No it isn't.
Its a completely new Font Manager.
In older versions of Corel (up to X7) Bitstream Font Navigator was included.

X8 comes with Corel's Font Manager 2017

You are using Coreldraw X7, right?...not Corel Graphics Suite 2017, which comes with Coreldraw X8)

First thing I notice, is you don't have to search for or tell the program to "find" fonts on your system.
The program loads in a millisecond and all your fonts are immediately there.
Everything except the fonts I have stored on another harddrive are there.

And wow, its fast.

Another thing is no fonts are "installed".
They are just there, available to use whenever you want them.

...
As usual, they have messed with the user interfaces.
In X8 Coreldraw, I am already seeing various controls and tools moved to different locations.
This has got to be the most frustrating thing, when you have gotten used to something in a certain place
and now its in a different place.

But I also see some new controls and features, that are very cool.

The fills and interactive fill tool is very new.
Its gonna take some getting used to, but its very very cool.
Looks like they have really improved it.

Even the drop shadow features work much better.

Biggest annoyance so far was that I had to install Internet Explorer 11 before Corel would install.
I don't use IE at all...and I didn't like the Microsoft integration idea.
Oh well.
Bill Gates just paid off Nigeria's $76 million debt...because he can.
