Narukawa Laboratory

Hi all,

While looking for nothing in particular on Pinterest, I came across a new map projection, called the AuthaGraph Map, designed by Hajime Narukawa.
I won't bore you with the cartographic technicalities.

From the picture above, and the pictures on the page describing this particular projection, the map can be turned into a tetrahedron, I haven't printed this yet, in order to confirm this.
And this led me to browse his site, and discover that he has many other paper models describing various geometric building structures. There are about a dozen or so pages with both a pdf and .ai download available, including a Carbon Nanotube, or a Buckminsterfullerene.

The main site is located here >> Hajime Narukawa Laboratory – Keio Univ. SFC
And his projects are located under the Archives tab.

Maybe this is something for those members who have kids or grandkids in school, and need something for a science fair project.

Rick
