I try to build planes with which I have a more personal connection. My uncle made many a training flight in the yellow peril during World War II. He did not (as far as I know) fly the floatplane, but I appreciate the beautiful design.
The fuselage went together very well. I copied papermate's approach to covering the wing spar carrythrough with something resembling a cockpit. The pictures will show the problem I had sealing the wingtips. The tabs are plainly visible. I'll learn from that. No problem with the fit or any of the parts. I will say that the geometry of the wing spar structure is complex, but simple to build. I would say it is brilliant, but I wouldn't want the designer to get a swollen head about it.
