Tamiya Paint Markers are good metallics.
The silver Sharpie only works on certain types of surfaces and colours.
It also doesn't seem to last very long...at least the silver metallic element seems to vanish fairly quickly.
I have a few old silver sharpies that write a transparent pinkish colour.
