I have not built a clock from a book.
I did build the Recoil Anchor Escapement that can be found on the Paper Clock Project page GlueČ Chronicle

What I found to make it work good is to tweak the length of the pendulum arm and adjust the amount of weight in the pendulum. Probably need to keep an eye on that when making the clock.

It also helped to make sure the folds were crisp and at right angles and allow the glue to dry before moving on.

I bought both the Recoil Anchor Escapement and the Paper Pendulum Clock from that site.

Looking through my stash of paper model books shows that I have a book called Make Your Own Working Paper Clock by James Smith Rudolph with a preface by Isaac Asimov.
